Feedback
It is important for those of us that you have chosen or have chosen themselves to be leaders in our community to receive feedback on our activities. Starting with this issue of the Marinwood 94903 newsletter we will include a method for you to make comments. You will have the opportunity to comment on all newsletters, including Frank’s blog about the re-development of the Marinwood Plaza and John Hammond’s Safe-routes blog. These comments will be public and others in our community will have the opportunity to respond if they are so inclined.
Here is something to comment on…
The Marinwood Village Community Planning Process. (You may know it as Marinwood Plaza re-development)
We have a process name and much more. On May 3, your 6 community reps (Now 7 – welcome Cyane Dandridge) met with Alex Hines and his staff along with representatives of the property owners and their possible developer Bridge Housing. Included at the meeting was David Early of DCE. It was decided among those attending that Phase 2 of the project be undertaken over the next 4 to 6 months.
Phase 2 is to result in a development concept for the Marinwood Shopping Center. Up to 10 meetings between the community reps, owners, and the county will occur facilitated and lead by David Early. In addition 2 Community Workshops will be scheduled to inform and receive feedback from the community at large prior to the completion of the development concept.
Here is where your feedback becomes important. At these 10 meetings the community reps will be discussing issues such as a potential housing program (number of units, affordability, and unit types), a potential retail program, a site base map and the ultimate development of up to three alternatives to be presented at the first Community Workshop. There are multiple ways for you to get your views known. Email (All notes are considered public and may be edited and posted on our comment board). Comment Board (Challenge others viewpoints, support them, post your own or just learn what people are thinking). Join a committee (In between the 10 meetings planned, various sub-committees will meet to review and guide the community reps) choose from a number including Design Vision, Retail store identification, Grants/funding, Communications, Housing and Environmental. Attend the Fourth Wednesday of the month meeting held at the Community Center starting at 7:00 PM (all welcomed, all encouraged).
Process Funding
The combined cost for both Phase 1 and 2 is expected to be about $52,000. The county has agreed to obtain $40,000 for this effort from a combination of Supervisor Susan Adam’s district 1 fund and the Marin Community Foundation. The remainder of $12,000 was agreed to be split evenly between the community and the property owners. Now we need to raise our share. Donations are always accepted and are tax deductible. Just make out a check to the Marinwood Association for any amount you want and send it to Geoffrey Mack

In addition, we have opened a store at which you can purchase items with the unofficial official Marinwood logo. We receive up to 25% of the purchase price. OR If you have a local business or organization you can purchase an ad on our web site. The entire purchase price goes to us.
We are developing other methods of raising the funds to support the above. Contact our Treasurer Geoff Mack with your suggestions
